Server plans each come standard with a specific amount of RAM dedicated to that server. In many cases RAM is the component that most affects performance. When servers have less memory than is required to execute operating system and application instructions, that information is instead stored in a pagefile or swap partition. This paging is what leads to poor performance. To avoid this, ensure you have enough RAM for your application. If you are not sure how much to get, don't worry. You can always add RAM to your server; upgrades require just a server reboot.
CPU Cores: provision up to 12x 2.53 Ghz cores to any server in 1 core increments for just $7.99/month.
Each Cloud Server is provisioned with a specific number of 2.53 Ghz cpu cores. These are the servers' processors. Depending on the operating system, these cores may be configured as multiple single-core processors or single processors with multiple cores. CPUs, after RAM, are the next most important component to performance. You may add cores to your server at any time. Core upgrades require just a reboot.
Boot Disk: provision servers with up to a 500 GB boot disk (15k FC/SAS) in 1 GB increments for just $1.00/month.
A boot disk is the first virtual hard drive in a virtual server. It stores the operating system and all applications for the server. It is critical that the hard drive is large enough for all of your applications and data. If available disk space runs below 20%, it is likely that server performance will suffer. You may add disk space to a server's boot disk any time, in some cases without needing to even restart the server. All boot disks are high-performance Fibre-Channel or SAS 15k RPM based storage. Price includes both local and offsite backup.
SATA Disk: add low-cost storage to your server, up to 2 TB, in 10 GB increments for just $3.00/month
SATA Disk is added to a server as a separate virtual hard drive based on 7.2k RPM SATA storage. Price includes both local and offsite backup.
IP Addresses: provision servers with up to 5 IP addresses for just $1.00/month.
While one IP address is generally enough for most applications, there are times that you may need to have more. The most common reason for needing multiple IP addresses is SSL certificates for multiple domains. Additional IP addresses are available subject to approval.
Bandwidth: allocate up to 4 TB monthly data transfer in 500 GB increments for just $14.99/month.
Bandwidth or monthly data transfer is the amount of data transferred to or from the Internet in any calendar month. Each plan comes with a specific amount of bandwidth - some unlimited. In multiserver configurations, data transferred between servers are not considered part of this monthly data transfer.
Additional Disk Options
2nd, 3rd and 4th Disks: provision servers with up to 4x 500 GB disks (15k FC/SAS) in 1 GB increments for just $1.00/month.
Add up to 3 high-performance FC/SAS 15k RPM based virtual hard drives to any plan. While this is not necessary for many configurations, specific applications benefit a great deal from having multiple disks. In most cases non-boot disks can be increased in size without any disruption in service. Price includes both local and offsite backup.

We currently offer customers a choice between CentOS and Debian.
CentOS is an Enterprise-class Linux Distribution derived from sources freely provided to the public by a prominent North American Enterprise Linux vendor. CentOS conforms fully with the upstream vendors redistribution policy and aims to be 100% binary compatible.
Debian is a free operating system (OS) for your computer. An operating system is the set of basic programs and utilities that make your computer run. Debian uses the Linux kernel (the core of an operating system), but most of the basic OS tools come from the GNU project; hence the name GNU/Linux.

LAMP is a popular open source web platform commonly used to run dynamic web sites and servers. It includes Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP/Python/Perl and is considered by many the platform of choice for development and deployment of high performance web applications which require a solid and reliable foundation.
Infinitely Virtual offers our customers the ability to use Gnome, which gives Linux a Microsoft Windows-like GUI.
GNOME (abbreviation of GNU Network Object Model Environment) is a desktop environment—a graphical user interface that runs on top of a computer operating system—composed entirely of free and open source software. It was created by two Mexican programmers, Miguel de Icaza and Federico Mena. It is an international project that includes creating software development frameworks, selecting application software for the desktop, and working on the programs that manage application launching, file handling, and window and task management.
GNOME is part of the GNU Project and can be used with various Unix-like operating systems, most notably GNU/Linux, and as part of the Java Desktop System in Solaris.
VNC is remote control software which allows you to view and fully interact with one computer desktop (the "VNC server") using a simple program (the "VNC viewer") on another computer desktop anywhere on the Internet. The two computers don't even have to be the same type, so for example you can use VNC to view a Windows Vista desktop at the office on a Linux or Mac computer at home. For ultimate simplicity, there is even a Java viewer, so that any desktop can be controlled remotely from within a browser without having to install software.

We offer a managed Stateful Packet Inspection Firewall option to our customers. The option is bundled with various plans.
A stateful firewall (any firewall that performs stateful packet inspection (SPI) or stateful inspection) is a firewall that keeps track of the state of network connections (such as TCP streams, UDP communication) travelling across it. The firewall is programmed to distinguish legitimate packets for different types of connections. Only packets matching a known connection state will be allowed by the firewall; others will be rejected.

We take data protection seriously. Every plan includes our unique data protection feature. Every server in our environment is backed up nightly by taking a point-in-time snapshot of the entire datastore. Unlike our competitors who take crash-consistent snapshots of their customers' servers, we take application-consistent snapshots. We retain daily backups for 7 days and weekly backups for 4 weeks.
