In Bid to Lighten the Load for Small and Midsize Businesses, Infinitely Virtual Unveils Package of Service Enhancements

Cloud Server Provider Offers New SATA and WebDav Plans, Turnkey Support for SSL Certificates

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 21, 2013) – Infinitely Virtual, a leading provider of Cloud Server computing services, today announced a battery of service enhancements, storage options and price reductions, all designed to make migration to the cloud an even better deal for small and midsize businesses.

Tying together the series of new offerings is Infinitely Virtual’s embrace of “appropriate technology,” priced and packaged for easy, cost-effective deployment by businesses that may not have IT resources in-house.

Recognizing that the Infinitely Virtual environment relies on premium, very high-speed storage – the better to run large SQL databases and disk-intensive terminal server applications – the company has introduced a low-cost SATA (Serial ATA) disk storage option for occasions when there’s simply less need for speed. Effective immediately, SATA is an option in all Infinitely Virtual plans for disk storage, at 30 cents per gigabyte, compared to $1 per gigabyte for high-speed storage. Pricing includes onsite and offsite backup.

“This is an outstanding solution for those apps that don’t require high-speed storage –Word, Excel, photos and the like,” said Adam Stern, CEO, Infinitely Virtual. “We’re effectively cutting the price of disk storage by two-thirds, and customers can pocket the savings. Customers rightly are concerned about paying for greater performance than they need, and too many providers simply don’t offer these kinds of options.”

In a second nod to the way small and midsize businesses prefer to work, Infinitely Virtual has taken the wraps off its Secure Internet File Server, enabling terminal server customers to store Office documents. Built around WebDAV (Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning) – an HTTP extension that supports collaboration among users editing and managing files and documents on Web servers – Infinitely Virtual’s fully configured Secure Internet File Server is available across the company’s product line for an additional $4.99 per month.

“Many small business users prefer to run Word and Excel from their own computers rather than from a terminal server,” Stern said. “Secure Internet File Server enables them to easily take advantage of terminal server to manage files. Better still, we turn it on for clients, configure it, map the drive to their system over the Internet in secure way, and show them how to use it. With the WebDAV protocol, the Web becomes a readable and writable medium.”

Rounding out the package of enhancements, Infinitely Virtual has simplified the process of purchasing SSL certificates, for those who need higher levels of security. Instead of pricing certificates individually, the company will now charge $3 a month to obtain, install and renew certificates, removing the SSL certificate management burden from users entirely.
